What do you mean there's no Easter Bunny?!

The Easter Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme.
Let's go!!!

The Easter Meme

From the now-defunct blog of Tense Teacher (the link is dead).

What are your Easter traditions?
Not to have any.  LOL
Do you hard boil and decorate eggs?
Nope.

How do you decorate your home for Easter?
The same way I do every day.  A few dust bunnies and egg-heads.  That's it!

Do you make/buy special outfits for yourself and your kids on Easter?
Nope

What is your favorite Easter dish?
Well, I'm planning on having a cinnamon-raisin bagel shortly, maybe that one?

When did you learn the truth about the Easter Bunny?
Wait, what?  Son of a BITCH!  You mean there's not an Easter Bunny?  That bastard!

Do you spend Easter at home, on vacation, or with family?
In my mind, I'm on a tropical island, does that count?

First one up on Easter morning?
I'm the first one up every morning, why should that change? LOL

Go to mass or church?

Not lately

What are your favorite Easter hymns and/or choir arrangements?
Oh my goodness.  All these Easter questions!

Look, peeps are nasty.  I was raised Catholic, but haven't been a practicing one in a long time.  I just don't feel like answering any more Easter questions.  I think you can tell from the ones I've answered already that I'm just not into it.  I used to hide eggs for the boy, but he's 17 now.  He doesn't care about much other than video games and yeah, well, video games.  LOL  My cousin is a priest, and I think sometimes about going - my son is probably the only one of my family not to have done CCD, First Communion, all that - but I just think there is so much of the church that is hypocritical that I just can't bring myself to make him go.  My parents forced me to go, and at the time - they didn't.  Then they found God again after a "Decolores to you too, dear" weekend.  Good for them.  According to the church, I'm going straight to hell in a handbasket.  According to karma, I've taken the bad that comes with the good, and think I'll be OK.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, enjoys the warmer weather, and as far as Easter?  Do what makes you happy.  Me?  I'm happy with some coffee, some good memories of Easter past and a day that is going to be into the 70's.  :)

The one that segued into Glory Days (because everything can relate to a Springsteen song, right?)

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

1) This song begins with, "So no one told you life was gonna be this way …" What do you wish you knew five years ago about your life now?Hmmmmm, not sure.  I like surprises.  I don't know that I'd really change anything - except maybe I would have had a better look around the Cape cottage the last time I was there, because had I been a little more ....ahem.....  informed... I would have looked to see what I wanted then.  And I would have enjoyed it more - knowing that would be my last trip there.  Sucks to live the life of the uninformed, eh?

2) This is, of course, the theme from Friends, which is frequently shown back-to-back on TVLand and TBS. Have you ever "binge-watched" a show, catching episode after episode?

Of course. Orange is the New Black (highly recommend it) and The Walking Dead.  I love Netflix..  :)

3) On the show, Monica and Rachel shared a beautiful 2BR/2BA Soho apartment with a private balcony. It's estimated that such a pad would cost at least $3500/month in today's real-life New York. Describe your dream home.
Hmmmm... something near the water.  I had my "dream home" when I lived with my ex - it was a big house on a lake - I was the one that picked it out.  I loved that house.  Him?  Not so much.  Which reminds me - there is a reason people are called an EX... right?  In the past few weeks - I've had a couple of guys that I used to ... you know... know...  try to get back in touch (one I'm friends with on FB and I think he was just drinking that night).  BUT.... Seriously?  I'm glad you have such great memories, but a few things have changed in life.  #1 - I'm not the silly 20-something looking for love in all the wrong places, #2 - I'm glad you have such fond memories, #3 - I'm no longer a size 4/6, #3 - I've had Bells Palsy.  Twice.  The left side doesn't always work like it should. #4 - I like to actually know someone(while they're SOBER) a little bit better these days and  #5 - The boobs you loved so much?  They're gone.  Yes.  GONE.  I chopped those bitches off and wish I'd done it sooner.  Oh wait - go back to the first question - that's what I wish I'd known!  LOL  Anyway - you get the point, right?   No more trying to relive the glory days people!

4) Of the six main characters, only Chandler was an only child. Do you have any siblings?

Oh for fuck's sake.  The ones that I was raised with?  They can all go shit in a hat.  See #1, or really - read any of my blog, you'll get it.  I have a step-sister that I really like, and many sisters from other mothers.   Speaking of other mothers.  I sent the baby-daddy a note this week - asking him if the events over the past few weeks has given him pause at all, made him realize that life is short and that maybe ignoring a child and making sure that others do the same MIGHT not be the best decision?   That man has no soul.  No conscience.  Nothing.  Which makes me wonder - why is it that when someone dies on the job, that it's someone that is a good decent person.  Why can't the assholes happen upon life ending shit like that?  Just curious...

5) Gunther was the barista at Central Perk, the coffee shop where the Friends hung out. He had an ongoing, unrequited love for Rachel. Are you crushing on anyone right now? Does he/she know? I'm 48.  I don't crush on peeps any more.

6) Currently Matt ("Joey") LeBlanc stars in the Showtime series Episodes, playing a character named Matt LeBlanc. If there was going to be series based on your life, who would play you?Hmmmmm knowing me?  Melissa McCarthy.  She's a freaking hoot. I think that if she and I were to meet - we'd be bestest friends forever.

7) Courtney Cox, who portrayed Monica, has the Twitter handle @CourtneyCox and has 628,000 followers. What was your last tweet?
The local weather guy and I have this tweet thing going.  I think it was to him, something about how he called the weather for today warm and fresh and I likened that forecast to a cookie.  LOL

8) The creators of Friends were massive soap opera fans. They named their characters after recurring characters on All My Children* and had Joey appear on Days of Our Lives. Have you ever been hooked on a daytime drama?

Come on now - hasn't everyone at one time?  It was Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives, and now it's just Jerry Springer.  I can't survive without knowing if you ARE the father or you are NOT the father.  LMAO

9) The band who performed this song, The Rembrandts, took their name from the famous Dutch painter. Can you see any artwork from where you're sitting right now? Tell us about it (and yes, a school painting by your 7-year-old nephew counts).

I see photos from my Alaska, Seattle and Cape trips.  That's artwork, right? I can be artsy fartsy and all that.  LOL

*According to IMDB: Ross for Ross Chandler, Joey for Joey Martin, Chandler for the Chandler family, Monica for Monique/Daisy Cortland, Rachel Greene for Janet Green, and Phoebe for Phoebe Tyler Wallingford.

A little scooty-bootin' in the puckerbrush would be nice..

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. From For Old Times' Sake

The For Old Times' Sake Meme

When was the last time you swam in a pool?
Last summer.  We have one here in our little "community"...  It's actually great.

 Do you like to party?
On occasion I like to let my freak flag fly.. But lately I've realized that I've been drinking far too much on the weekends, and I'm giving my liver (and subsequently - my wallet) a break.  LOL

Describe the shirt you're wearing?
gray.  short sleeves.  Says Little League on it.  Oh, and I'm not wearing a bra.  So there are two lady bumps sticking out of the front.

What is one feature film that you don't like?
There are one or two movies that I actually got up and walked out of because I just didn't like them.  The one about Beethoven was one of them.  I thought it was just boring and BLECH...

Would people describe you as happy?
Well that's a silly question!  Of course I'm happy!

Sleep with or without clothes on?
Depends, is your Dad there?  LMAO

Does it bother you if people swear around you?
They better fucking not, those motherfuckers.

Do you prefer Wednesdays or Thursdays?
And this has what to do with the price of tea in China?

Like to travel?
LOVE it...  The boy wants to be a pilot, and I'm really hoping he'll get a job with a commercial airline, so then I can fly for free.  LOL

Think you're attractive?
Um, duh.. I'm a pretty pretty princess!

Are or were you a good student?
In high school?  Not so much.  College?  I had a 3.36 GPA.  That was gotten while working full time and being a single mom.  So yeah, I was a good student. Although, hell of a lot of good that degree's done me!

Are you currently happy?
I have coffee, heat, working internet - what wouldn't I be happy about?

Colored or black-and-white photo?
Stop.  I'm not answering your photo-racist questions!

Do you consider yourself the life of the party?
Not really, but apparently my friends do.

Do you drink?
Seriously.  Of course I drink.  Water and coffee during the day.  Water at night, unless it's a "titties and beer" night as my friend Marianne used to call them - and then it's usually beer.

Do you make fun of people?  Only if they deserve it.
Do you think dreams eventually come true?
Oh good Lord I hope not! I'm talking about REM sleep dreams, not the whole "some day my prince will come" dreams...  Well, actually i think they're both crap.  Knowing my luck my prince has knocked on my door and I've slammed it in his face, thinking he was a door-to-door salesman.

Favorite fictional character?
Tiggers are wonderful things!

Go to the movies or rent?
Ok, let's break this down.  Movies?  over $10/ticket plus popcorn, soda, etc.  Usually a trip to the movies is almost $40.  Rent?  $1.29/day baby.  Red Box - all the way.

Have you ever moved?
Shall I count? 18 times, 2 states.  Dude, I'm tired just thinking about it.
Have you ever stolen anything?
Just your mom's heart.  LMAO

How's the weather right now?
Sunny and 35, heading up to 50-something

Last time you cut your hair?
Not sure, but I'm due for a color and a cut..

Last person you talked to on the phone?
Prolly Lil' Kim

Last time you showered?
Yesterday.  I might take one today.  I'm not sure yet..

Loud or soft music?
Depends.  If it's AC/DC's Thunderstruck?  you can't listen to that low.  If it's Minnie Riperton and her "lalalalala lalalalala... " etc.  that's shit is as low as it can get.

McDonalds or Burger King?  Mickey D's
Night or day?
One is dark, the other is not.  Unless there's a big ass storm coming in with a tornado warning - then my ass is in my neighbor's basement.  But the dark side has cookies.  But the light gives me a tan.  Oh I don't know.  What was the question?
Number of pillows?
Since I screwed up my neck (old whiplash injury from being rear-ended in Hollywood - right in front of the Academy building, I'll have you know) - one pillow and it has to be pretty flat.  Ugh.

Piano or guitar?
I don't play either.  Why?

Current longing?
A little scooty-bootin' in the puckerbrush would be nice, but since people have an aversion to the whole "getting to know you" thing that I have going on, I'll settle for coffee.. LOL

Current disappointment?
See previous question

Current annoyance?
See previous previous question

Last thing you ate?
Your... no.  Wait.  I'm not going there.  Plus, that's just gross.  I'd probably make a great lesbian - if it weren't for the whole vagina thing.  Everyone ever notice that just about everything you eat just turns to poop?

Last thing you bought?
Groceries.  Yesterday.

Pick a lyric, any lyric or a song...
"I learned more from a 3 minute record than I ever did in school"

Pick a movie quote...
"The two youts?"  "Do you meow know how meow fast you were meow going meow?"

How's that for knowledge there conjunction junction?

50 years ago this week, The Beatles made history with this song (hear it here). They became the first and only act in history to hold all 5 of the top slots in the Billboard Hot 100.

1) In this song, Beatle Paul offers to buy his girl a diamond ring. Do you wear rings?Sometimes - I have a couple.  But it seems like every time I do, someone is like - ooh, did you get engaged?  married?  How about no - jerkface - that's the only finger they fit on.  LOL

2) This song was written by boyhood friends John Lennon and Paul McCartney, who went on to become the most successful songwriters of the 20th century. Tell us about  your best friend from "the old neighborhood." Do you know where he or she is today?

Karen L.  We lived next door until I was in 2nd grade (I think?), and then we moved up the street (same street, different house) to a bigger house.  I know where she is.  Well, not right this second, but yeah.  I know where she is, and her brother AND her mother!  How's that for knowledge there conjunction junction?
*edited to add this picture.  Damn we were cute!!  And really - I haven't changed.  LOL

3) The Ed Sullivan Theater, where the Beatles first performed to a mass American audience, is now the home of The Late Show with David Letterman. Do you have a favorite late night talk show?

I always liked Letterman, I now love Jimmy Fallon and wish I could stay up late enough to watch Craig Ferguson.  I could just listen to him talk all night.  LOL

4) In 1964, when this song became #1, one of top TV shows was My Favorite Martian. Do you believe in life on other planets?Come on, really.  There are thousands of planets, stars, moons, etc. out there - we CAN'T be the only ones..  Can we?

5) In those days, homes had rotary dial phones, often affixed to the wall, with the receiver always tethered by a curly cord. Does your home still have a landline phone?Yep.  But we don't answer it, or really use it.  My internet was cheaper with the landline, go figure.  I give that number to bill collectors.  LOL

6) 1964 was the year GI Joe first appeared on toy shelves. Tell us about one of your favorite childhood toys. Raggedy Ann.  And then my older siblings threw her out the window into the alley below where the mean dog was.  Never saw her again.

7) Ringo was the first Beatle to become a grandfather. His granddaughter, Tatia, is now a rock musician. If you were to follow your grandfather into his chosen profession, what would you be doing now?One was a Boston cop, the other was a painter.  He was a house painter, and, according to my aunt Harriet's memories?  He's the one that convinced them to paint the White House white, you know.  (She was a very very gullible child).. LOL

8) Paul McCartney admits he enjoys watching MasterChef. What show do you go out of your way to catch?Oh dear.  Everyone knows not to call my house on Sunday nights.  The Walking Dead is on.  Call me then, and Imma gonna bust-a you up-a...

9) The paparazzi has often caught Paul pedaling a bike around Martha's Vineyard. What's your favorite form of exercise?

Pedaling a bike around on Martha's Vineyard.  I love Martha.  She has the BEST island..
And if you're a fan of Jaws?  That's me and Stella, in the water after jumping off the Jaws Bridge.  LOL

Happy Weekend!!
