What do you mean there's no Easter Bunny?!

The Easter Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme.
Let's go!!!

The Easter Meme

From the now-defunct blog of Tense Teacher (the link is dead).

What are your Easter traditions?
Not to have any.  LOL
Do you hard boil and decorate eggs?
Nope.

How do you decorate your home for Easter?
The same way I do every day.  A few dust bunnies and egg-heads.  That's it!

Do you make/buy special outfits for yourself and your kids on Easter?
Nope

What is your favorite Easter dish?
Well, I'm planning on having a cinnamon-raisin bagel shortly, maybe that one?

When did you learn the truth about the Easter Bunny?
Wait, what?  Son of a BITCH!  You mean there's not an Easter Bunny?  That bastard!

Do you spend Easter at home, on vacation, or with family?
In my mind, I'm on a tropical island, does that count?

First one up on Easter morning?
I'm the first one up every morning, why should that change? LOL

Go to mass or church?

Not lately

What are your favorite Easter hymns and/or choir arrangements?
Oh my goodness.  All these Easter questions!

Look, peeps are nasty.  I was raised Catholic, but haven't been a practicing one in a long time.  I just don't feel like answering any more Easter questions.  I think you can tell from the ones I've answered already that I'm just not into it.  I used to hide eggs for the boy, but he's 17 now.  He doesn't care about much other than video games and yeah, well, video games.  LOL  My cousin is a priest, and I think sometimes about going - my son is probably the only one of my family not to have done CCD, First Communion, all that - but I just think there is so much of the church that is hypocritical that I just can't bring myself to make him go.  My parents forced me to go, and at the time - they didn't.  Then they found God again after a "Decolores to you too, dear" weekend.  Good for them.  According to the church, I'm going straight to hell in a handbasket.  According to karma, I've taken the bad that comes with the good, and think I'll be OK.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, enjoys the warmer weather, and as far as Easter?  Do what makes you happy.  Me?  I'm happy with some coffee, some good memories of Easter past and a day that is going to be into the 70's.  :)

I disagree with you on the Peeps...they're the best part of Easter! :)

We used to go to church every Sunday, but as I've gotten older, I have a lot of trouble with the hypocrisy of organized religion, and am more comfortable following God on my own.

Amen. I know many people who feel just like you do. We did have a lot of similar answers. At least the weather is nice.

Thankful for the good weather, too. And with you on everything else. I stayed home today, took care of some personal things, and rested. Stepped outside and conversed with God in the backyard. To me that's the best kind of church.

I'm a recovering Catholic, myself. But I do think that Peeps rock!
