ugh...

Well, an update of sorts about that situation. I spoke with the father, and yesterday the boy and I both got apologies. Not sure how sincere they were, but we got them. I told him that he needs to understand that it isn't true, and saying stuff like that can get him into a lot of trouble and he needs to understand how serious that is, and maybe he needs to think about who his friends are if they're lying like that about people. And funny, he couldn't for the life of him remember who he heard it from. Go figure... =insert silly eye roll here=..

And then for a good chunk of the game his wife was sitting with the FFW, and then they were all talking and hanging out after the game.

There are days I just want to slam my head against a brick wall.

Well, at least you got an apology, such as it may have been.

This is a tough situation for sure... considering that the kid is probably just repeating what he hears from the adults in his life. Sad!

me too. Apparently the boys are being really nice to my boy these days, too - so I think they really must have gotten a butt-chewing. We'll see how it goes. It would have been nice to have an acknowledgment from the parent that he'd apologized, but I guess not everyone thinks like me. I'll take it - one small victory I guess.
